The world is in turmoil. Society is at a crossroad. The older generation is giving way to the newer generation with swift changes. Finance, politics, religion, culture, diseases, the climate, are seeing rapid changes. Here, we provide thought-provoking insights into the current and impending crises facing the world.

    Fidelity

In this age of corruption where everything is permissible, can we expect fidelity and honesty in all affairs of life? Modern society is sowing a seed in which lies, violence, quick fixes, materialism, sexual perversion, etc. are glorified: what fruit shall these bear in the future?

Can a man be faithful to the end? Can he keep a pure heart and pure thoughts throughout his life? In this day of unbridled immorality and infidelity, can one find loyal hearts and faithful hands? In all affairs of life, from marriage to business, friendship to child training, civil/national service, education, and even farming, fidelity to all principles, protocols, ethics, conventions, rules, and regulations are necessary for a successful outcome.

Booker T. Washington, one of the greatest educationists and Black leaders of all time in the USA🇺🇸, wrote of the fidelity of black slaves towards their masters even during and after the Civil War, which was fought to either free or maintain slavery. Although the slaves wished to be free, they kept the homes of their masters who had gone to war and where the masters died, they worked to raise their kids.

In this age of rampant corruption, can a man be faithful unto the end? The slaves who fought during the Civil War knew the consequences of the War, but they still remained faithful to their masters.

It takes faithfulness, which is the fruit of honesty, sincerity, and pure thoughts, for the seamstress or shoemaker to make quality dresses and shoes that will last the user for a long time. Loyalty to work will make a teacher or Civil servant give off his/her best without demanding bribes or cutting corners. A faithful businessman will never defraud an unsuspecting customer by seeking astronomical profits. Neither will a faithful chef use poor ingredients in meals just to maximize income to the detriment of consumers!!

A faithful woman or man shall remain chaste until marriage and remain loyal to one partner during same. Sincerity in politicians and bankers will secure the public purse from looting, lying their way to power, or bending rules to their favour. Servants will work diligently, and masters will pay them their wages on time.

Fidelity in all matters of business and relationships is necessary for the sustenance of the business and the peace of the home, respectively. Infidelity leads to disappointments and many broken homes.

Have you seen poor quality products on the market, artificial increments in prices, poorly trained artisans, poorly educated students, collapsing bridges, buildings, and roads, mass retrenchments and unemployment, collapsing businesses, fake certificates, and degrees, failing healthcare systems, poor service delivery? Look no further for the cause. Surely, it is infidelity in someone that has caused it.

In this life, everyone wants a loyal person to work with, marry, or associate with, but few strive to be loyal. As difficult as this is, it is not impossible. For the Bible attests to men who stood faithful to man and God in their daily affairs: Joseph, Moses, Daniel, Samuel, Elijah… Unbeknownst to many, the success and prosperity of any nation depend on the quality of her people. To date, no quality is more important than faithfulness, sincerity, loyalty, and purity in all things. If you see a poor nation, look no further, the cause is simple: perfidy!

Infidelity in business, government, child upbringing, skill development, etc., has led to much misery, layoffs, poverty, and unprintable pain.

To be honest and true, sincere and just, loyal and pure in heart, thoughts, and all affairs of life, irrespective of the cost to yourself, is a true but rare gem indeed. And no man of himself can get these attributes without the indwelling Spirit of God: for these are the very character traits of God. These are traits that Satan hates, for he can not control or influence such men.

Yet, instead of furthering these attributes in kids and youth by teaching and practicing the Words in the Bible, parents, teachers, and governments will rather suppress the Bible and true religion whilst glorifying immoral celebrities on television and social media. They lead the young towards heroes and standards that teach infidelity. What a mournful thought!

Violence, crime, immorality, perfidy, etc., are promoted on different media platforms. What kind of society are we building if these characters are our heroes? What kind of future do we expect to harvest after sowing seeds of anger, infidelity, quick money, etc?

The greatest want of the world is the want of men–men who will not be bought or sold; men who in their inmost souls are true and honest; men who do not fear to call sin by its right name; men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole; men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.”

We live in a society where entertainment and all forms of immorality are promoted above decency, hard work, purity, and faithfulness.

Unless we cultivate these traits in our nature, we shan’t make it to the Eternal City of Light. For it is written, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). Would God that we were faithful unto the end! Semper Fidelis, always faithful! A blessed peaceful Sabbath to all the struggling warring saints of God. Shalom!
