The world is in turmoil. Society is at a crossroad. The older generation is giving way to the newer generation with swift changes. Finance, politics, religion, culture, diseases, the climate, are seeing rapid changes. Here, we provide thought-provoking insights into the current and impending crises facing the world.

Population control: the reign of fear

From slavery to Jim Crow, the black population of the United States suffered immeasurably under a reign of terror never equaled before World War II

Population control did not start from eugenics or the 1800s. In fact, it happened in the time of Moses, when the Egyptians became worried about the increasing numbers, freedom, & wealth of the Hebrews. The Egyptians feared that the Israelites will one day rise up against them and take over the country.

To control their population, Pharaoh enslaved them in crushing labour (so that they will be so busy by day and too tired by night to sleep with their wives). When this failed to reduce their numbers, Pharaoh tried to convince the midwives to kill the Hebrew children during delivery, but the midwives failed to do so. He, therefore, came out boldly to make a law that all Hebrew males should be killed. He released his soldiers on the citizens and a reign of terror ensued (Exodus 1:8-22).

This incident has been repeated throughout history.

When slavery was abolished throughout the world, the Europeans replaced it with the colonization of Africa. When slavery was abolished in the United States, it was replaced by Jim Crow and the Ku Klux Klan. Based on eugenics and the idea that whites are superior & chosen by God, the Southern States passed Black Code (Jim Crow) laws to restrict the development and advancement of Blacks.

Under Jim Crow Laws, blacks were kept from living in the same neighborhoods as whites. They were prevented from using the same buses (or asked to only use the back seats), or even entering restaurants, theatres, beaches, public spaces, and schools as whites. It was common to see signs like “no Blacks, Mexicans, and Dogs allowed here.” The negro, as blacks were called then, was not seen as human.

The white supremacists formed a secret society called the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) to torture and push blacks from entering white society, feeling equal, or gaining further freedoms⛓. The KKK forced blacks back to plantations to work for their slave masters for almost nothing🪙. They forced their kids out of school to work on cotton farms. Whenever any black person resisted or argued with a white man, he was chased, beaten, and hanged on a tree. This was called lynching.

It was common to wake up in the morning and see many black men and women hanged to death, or dead from gunshots and stonings on the streets. At times, the blacks were forced to sleep earlier or their houses🛖 will be burnt down (for the least resistance), leaving them homeless. Even for shaking a white woman’s hands or showing signs of disrespect, you could be killed. Whenever these killers were found, they were never punished.

It was illegal to marry a white woman or white man because it was claimed by eugenicists that it will produce mongrels or a confused dog-like race. Blacks were jailed for the least offense and made to work harder in jail so that they do not survive jail time. They had no justice in the law courts: everything was against them.

Although Blacks were granted constitutional rights to vote, the Southern States passed literacy and poll tax laws that kept Blacks from voting. Why, because most blacks were uneducated or could not pay the required tax to vote. To keep them poorer and uneducated, they were poorly paid (by law) and forced out of school. Indeed, it was even illegal in some states to teach a black man to read. Some States set the maximum amount of wage that a black man could be paid.

The KKK marched on Black people deep in the night.

Their schools were burnt down and those who were educated were denied jobs to make them feel useless. Many of these educated ones had to migrate to the North where things were better. The Jim Crow era was one of the darkest times of American and world history. It was copied by other countries such as Australia, South Africa, and Nazi Germany. Yet, they called themselves Christians and the Churches were largely quiet about these abuses.

Ota Benga, a Congolese man, was brought to the USA and shown alongside monkeys to show that he was also a monkey. His teeth were chiseled to make them look like that of an animal.

Is this the religion of Christ? May God forgive us for our maltreatment of His creation. The worst treatment of mankind is yet to be described. The next article will delve deeper into other atrocities.
