For centuries the sins of a doomed people continued without contrition
When the sons of God lusted after the daughters of men with a passion
Oh, the folly! For their fairness was a deception

Like the daughters of Moab under Balaam, securing Israel’s retribution
At Shittim, when they joined Baal-peor without divine permission
Alas! The divine judgment that saw no revision
“My Spirit shall not always strive with man,” what a miserable decision
Forced from a grieved heart that had repented of His creation
Which had filled the earth with violence and inexorable corruption
That was blatantly indulged without reflection

“The end of all flesh is come before me”, was the divine enunciation
That sealed the destiny of a world in retribution
Which for ages, had treated divine entreaties with derision
Till lone Noah, entering the Ark, left them to their perversion

Alas, the guilty race’s sins have passed remission!
Oh, their obduracy, the marching teams of beasts couldn’t inspire a contemplation!
Nor could the dazzling brightness of an angel shutting the ark, force them into recession
For seven days the wrath of God delayed with compassion
After shutting the Ark and sealing the Earth’s probation

Behold the world, emboldened by this delay, mocking Noah’s message as a delusion!
Dark angry clouds clashed and thunders roared, throwing all creation into confusion
The fear of man and the blaring cries of beasts knew no description
At the highest points, every life sought refuge from the divine retaliation
Powerful lightning burned out their idols, golden mansions… from their vision

While heavy raindrops, before unseen, deluged the earth without discretion
The surging jets of springs tearing the earth’s crusts were more than a premonition
Rivers overflowed their banks and changed their course, flooding every adoration
Such shall be the terror of man at Christ’s second coming, with a similar mission
No more with a flood but with fire in this second edition
To melt the world and its inhabitants that have made sin their preoccupation
