On reaching the peaceful market booming with trade and innocent buyers🛒👫, Greed became so angry and restive! He clung to the skirt of Pride and asked her to get him everything🥓🍔 in the market!
Pride smiled with pride and said to Greed😃: “Rest easy my love, you’ll soon own everything here and make me a proud mother of a great man!” They returned home and told Satan about their wishes, and the master planner🐍 and chief strategist, the ruler and origin of all evil👺, told his wife and kid…
“Worry not my dearies, I will make you the owner of all markets by tomorrow. For I have a 100 means to make you own what does not belong to you! I even hate the peace they enjoy in that market, and the fairness🤧 with which they treat their customers. I would rather you own it so you can monopolise trade and cheat the innocent! Hahahahahaha… hahahahahah💀”… and so laughed our infernal enemy and perpetual foe. That laughter that sends shivers😬 down the spine of mankind and spells doom to earth, rankled my pen…even as I write…
Greed and pride are the greatest enemies of man. By them, millions have lost their homes🏘️, marriages, jobs, lives, and their peace😪. Slavery, the colonisation of Africa, wars, genocides, bank collapses, etc., are mainly fueled by greed…and this is the story of the results of greed. I am taking you to Wall Street in New York, the greatest financial hub in the world alongside or after London🎡. Here sits the New York stock exchange, NASDAQ, big investment banks🏦, and all that matter in business. Thousands flock here physically or electronically (online)💻 to trade (sell and buy) stocks of companies.
And here, greed reared its ugly head and engineered the largest and most devastating Ponzi schemes in history💰. Born to Jewish parents in New York, Bernard Lawrence Madoff🧑🏼💼 majored in political science in college. He left law school to start his own stocks/shares🏦 trading company, where he served as a middleman (trader) between sellers💷 and buyers of stocks. He pioneered the trading of shares via electronic means🖥️ instead of over the counter and that changed his business 👨💼.
This meant that people could just trade on the stock market from their homes 🏡instead of travelling to Wall Street. His stocks/shares’ trading business was legitimate☝🏽 and he became the chairman of NASDAQ at some point. Indeed, his company🏫 was the 6th largest trader of shares/stocks on the Standard & Poor’s (S&P) 500 index📈! He was making more than $100 million annually💎💶 through this legitimate business. Yet, greed was not satisfied …
