The world is in turmoil. Society is at a crossroad. The older generation is giving way to the newer generation with swift changes. Finance, politics, religion, culture, diseases, the climate, are seeing rapid changes. Here, we provide thought-provoking insights into the current and impending crises facing the world.

The Rise of Ancient Witchery and Sorcery

During the Middle and Dark Ages in Europe and in colonial America, witches were hunted to death in a practice called "witch hunting." These dark arts, therefore, went into the shadows. Currently, these magical arts are returning into society under different disguises...

During and after the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century, persons found practicing witchcraft, necromancy, and sorcery were hunted down and killed in Europe and early colonial America. It is estimated that ~35,000-100,000 witches perished within this period. Anecdotal and documented evidence suggests that similar witch hunts and executions also occurred and still do occur, albeit to a limited degree, in Asia and Africa…

Suffering from public opprobrium, witches and wizards went into hiding and practiced secretly. Thus, many people, including Bible-believing Christians, began to doubt their existence and purported magical prowess. Yet, the Bible recognizes and proscribes such nefarious and occultic communications with evil spirits (witchcraft).

The old art of necromancy, witchcraft, spiritism, magic, etc., are resurfacing again with full force. Several academic institutions are even offering courses in wizardry.

Instructively, J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter fantasy series, which has sold above 500 million copies and been produced into movies, reversed this public opprobrium of witchcraft and dead pagan practices. Owing to the Harry Potter books and movies, millions of kids and adults have become extremely interested in the underworld’s magical arts and spiritual crafts. This has encouraged many online portals and universities to brazenly offer courses in spiritual incantations, witchery, black magic, communication with the netherworld, etc.

Old paganic beliefs from Zoroastrianism, in which the zodiac signs of the stars were used to predict the future and character of individuals, have become commonplace. And it’s not uncommon to see zodiac signage in Christian settings.

Magical books and spiritual incantations are increasingly being incorporated into movies. Magical books are also common online and people use these incantations to invoke spirits.

Such return to “baptized” paganism and witchcraft shall increase exponentially, for the Bible says so in Revelation 16.13! Spiritual manifestations from evil spirits shall ever increase and will draw many from pure Bible truths to miracle-working demons in clerical gowns as is already playing out before our very eyes in certain churches.

And this will be the comeuppance: men shall be imbued with demons, making them heartless and hopelessly wicked, godless, impious… (1 Tim. 4:1-3 and 2 Tim. 3:1-9). Contact with demons shall make us like Sodom and Gomorrah: in preparation for divine retribution!!

May Jehovah keep us under His banner and surround us with His eternal light from evil angels who are being invited by witches!
