On LinkedIn, on 14th August 2020, was a man from UAE (Dubai), who worked for Emirates airline. He is now retrenched because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He was desperately begging for a job, because his wife was undergoing an expensive medical treatment and he has nothing left to support his daughter with. Think of his accommodation and other expenses.
It reminded me of another lady who also posted earlier for help in finding a job. She was also retrenched from her supermarket job due to the pandemic. She had two kids.

These represent the fate of millions who have lost their source of livelihoods, transforming them into beggars overnight! Am sure some of these people looked with scorn or stone-cold heartlessness on those who begged in the streets, not knowing they will become one, online, someday…
Reminiscent of the 2008 global financial crises, millions lost their jobs, houses, cars and living, and thousands, unable to stand, committed suicide, after killing their wives and kids.

Am sure in your personal life, you are aware of people who died of cancer, strokes, diabetes, HIV, TB, etc., immediately throwing their dependents and families into financial distress.
Ask yourself, what would you do, if it were you? Is there a God who sees and cares? Such was the query of some seafaring men some 2000 years ago. With all their strength and experience, they battled the storm and tempest alone to prevent their boats from capsizing and burying them in the depths of the sea.

Throughout the night they laboured without success. Their boat was quickly filling up with water, making it heavier and sinking. Wearied and panic stricken, they feared death. A strong wind struck the boat up and a gush of water rose to finally bury them forever. A lightning struck and they saw, to their wild amazement, the sleeping form of One who “cared” not! With intense anguish they unanimously cried,
“Master!!!! Carest thou not that we perish!!!”
Waking up, He spread His hands to the billows and said softly,
“peace, be still”

Immediately, the storm ceased, and the sea was at rest. Turning to the disciples, He asked,
“Why are you so fearful? How is it, that ye have no faith?”
Friends, the world is obviously in an unending storm even as I write, but no one can save this boat, but He.
“With God, all things are possible,”
especially for those that believe in Him. The western sun has sunk into the horizon, ushering forth the holy Sabbath of the Lord. His angels are hovering round,
“for the angels of the Lord encamp around those who fear Him, and delivers them.”
Though
“a 1000 shall fall by thy side and 10,000 by thy right side, with your eyes only shall you behold…”

Let us therefore cry to the Lord, and seek His mercy, healing, and pardoning grace that we shall make it safely through this storm!
