The Lamb Now Speaks Like a Dragon: the nations are angry

The world is really at a crossroads. The rapid developments currently evolving before our eyes is both terrifying and troubling. The United States, the beacon and bastion of democracy and the rule of law, is now acting authoritatively to force other countries to do its will. Using tariffs, threats, economic sanctions, and military power, the US is now ruling the world with fear and rude power... This article examines Revelation 13 in light of escalating global tensions, rising military spending, and the nations’ growing anger. It explores how prophetic symbols illuminate today’s geopolitical landscape and offers a spiritual perspective on world events.

It is becoming a cliche and almost repetitious to claim that the world is on a verge of a stupendous and unprecedented crises. What is awaiting us in the few years ahead? Indeed, the recent speech by the Canadian Prime Minister, Mike Carney, at Davos (the World Economic Forum) about the state of the world in terms of politics, economy, commerce, and power, summarizes it all. His speech was so well received that it became the talk of various news media globally, making him a global icon and a target of the great powers. He detailed how the post World War II era was built on global institutions and a rules-based order under American leadership and hegemony to bring peace and stability in the world. This has been termed Pax Americana. Yet, ironically, these rules that were set by the world’s powers themselves to ensure peace, are not kept by them. Meanwhile, poorer and weaker countries are forced to keep them, with little options for maneuverability. This one-sided and hypocritical approach to international law, is reaching a tipping point, because many nations are getting angry: enough is enough.

Canadian’s Prime Minister, Mike Carney, gave a rousing speech painting a true picture of the world and the current global order.
Contrary to this rules-based international order, the US and Russia have attacked and bullied other countries with impunity. Russia attacked Georgia in 2008 and annexed parts of Georgia without anyone going to their aid. What was their crime? The government of Georgia sought to reclaim two breakaway regions within their country, and for this, they were attacked. Furthermore, Russia sought to prevent Georgia from getting closer to the West and becoming a part of NATO.
This same playbook has been used against Ukraine. In 2014, Russia sent armed rebels to seize Crimea (a peninsula of Ukraine) and parts of Eastern Ukraine called the Donbas region. Russia initially denied being behind these rebels but later came out fully to support them. After serious fighting, Russia seized Crimea and parts of Eastern Ukraine until they eventually invaded Ukraine in 2021. While the world was recovering from the pandemic, Russia invaded Ukraine with full force and they have never known peace until now. What was the crime of Ukraine (What to know about Crimea, the peninsula Russia seized from Ukraine in 2014 | PBS News)? They rejected Russian influence and sought to become closer to Western Europe. For these reasons, millions had to die… Thousands in Belarus were persecuted for protesting the 2020 elections in which they tried to free themselves from the current government, which is seen as a puppet of Russia. With Russian backing, the Belarusian government suppressed the citizens, and many fled into exile.
After the disputed elections in Belarus in 2020, millions took to the streets and protested. However, this was met with brute force as many were arrested, brutalized, and persecuted.
These gross infractions of international law are not limited to Russia. The United States, which claims moral superiority and respect for the rule of law, remains a major culprit of these illegalities. Under the pretext of keeping Vietnam and other Asian states from falling under Soviet influence, the USA became engaged militarily in Vietnam. Millions perished for nothing.
In Iraq, the Bush Administration used a lame excuse that Saddam Hussein was developing weapons of mass destruction. He sent the army there to fight and topple the Saddam Hussein government, causing instability in Iraq. Sadly, they only attacked Iraq to get access to their vast oil reserves: for this, millions had to die. For several years the US went to Afghanistan under the pretext of fighting terrorism. Although they toppled the Taliban regime and installed another government, they left Afghanistan under disgraceful circumstances. The Afghanistan government was toppled by the Taliban in a few weeks after the US troops’ withdrawal and Afghanistan is back to where it was several years before the US intervened.
The same playbook was used against colonel Muammar Qaddafi, who was forcefully removed and assassinated by a US-led coalition. Under the pretext of helping the Libyan people who were caught in the fighting between the rebels, Arab Spring protestors, and the Gaddafi government, the USA and NATO (including the UK, France, Italy, etc) intervened in Libya. Today, the once prosperous Libya is but a pale shadow of itself. In order to get access to the vast oil reserves in Libya, Gaddafi had to die; Libya had to become divided and weaker.
Saddam Hussein was toppled by the USA & UK under mysterious reasons that he was hiding weapons of mass destruction. He was tried and hanged to death after he was toppled. Looking back, we wonder if that war to topple him was indeed justified. Was he just toppled because the Americans wanted him out to get access to Iraq’s oil?
It therefore became a trend that the powers of the world will use any means possible or necessary to get what they want, contrary to established international laws. What broke the camel’s back in these patterns described above are two recent events: the capture of Maduro in oil-rich Venezuela and the determination to obtain resources-rich Greenland by all means.
Ironically, the Europeans always supported the US in her illegal interventions in global affairs, toppling of world leaders, and creating instability just to get access to the resources of other nations. Yet, when the same playbook was turned towards Greenland, they stood up in arms. The Europeans stood silent while the world was shocked to learn that the US army had attacked Venezuela and captured its President, Nicholas Maduro. Immediately after capturing Maduro, under the claim that he was supporting drug trade in the Americas, the US government sought access to Venezuela’s rich oil reserves. So why was Venezuela attacked? Was it attacked just to get access to her resources? The Maduro government is still in power: so if it was to change government, why are they still in power?

After successfully capturing Maduro, the U.S. now turned her attention to oil and minerals-rich Greenland, which is part of Denmark. The determination of the U.S. administration to obtain Greenland at all costs, under the pretext that it is important for its national security, is nothing but an excuse to get access to her vast resources. This has triggered a diplomatic storm between the US and Europe as the Europeans are determined to keep what is theirs. Europe needs oil and resources too and they are determined to keep that within their territory. If the US gets it, Europe will become dependent on the US again for more resources. Greenland is estimated to hold the largest reserves of oil and other minerals than every country in the world…

Venezuela’s president, Nicolas Maduro, was forcefully captured from his home in Caracas and sent to prison in New York. This is an unprecedented move that threatens to destroy the international rules-based order.
Indeed, it has been argued in many circles that the fight for Ukraine is but a fight for resources because Eastern Ukraine is rich with many minerals. Evidence for this claim is obtained from the recent US-Ukraine bilateral Minerals Resources Agreement that gives the US access to Ukraine’s minerals resources in exchange for US military aid. Is it therefore surprising that Africa has been used by the West as a minerals mining farm? Is it surprising that resources-rich DRC is in shambles and is constantly being attacked by Rwanda-backed M23 rebels for her resources?
The instances listed above are not exhaustive as the exploits of the Israeli government into neighboring Arab states in the Middle East are not extensively covered. Furthermore, the ongoing activities of the Chinese government against smaller neighboring states in the South China sea are not also discussed. Nevertheless, the brief overview of events outlined above paint a dangerous picture of where the world is going. Powerful nations are taking the law into their own hands and doing as they please. This is causing anger and discontent in many circles.
Space will not allow for another detailed discussion of how the US is also weaponizing economic sanctions against countries that it disagrees with. What was even shocking was the threat to place tariffs on European countries for not supporting the determination to acquire Greenland.
Since the capture of Venezuela, the United States has been threatening different countries and governments, trying to dominate world affairs. Countries or governments that refuse to kowtow to the US administration’s wishes are threatened with tariffs, sanctions, and military action.
For several years and months now, the US has been using economic and travel sanctions and tariffs against Iran, North Korea, China, India, and other allies of the US such as Europe, Canada, and Mexico. Why was India recently placed under heavy US tariffs? In fact, institutions such as the International Criminal Court (ICC) and its judges, staff, and prosecutors have been targeted by economic sanctions. Why were they targeted? The ICC investigated Israel and other US citizens for war crimes. For this, they were sanctioned in February 2025, banning them from entering the US, restricting their assets in the US, and banning them from access to US services. This has financially affected these persons as most international trade is undertaken using the US dollar.
Whoever thought that the US will attack such international organizations? Well, in January 22, 2026, the US formally withdrew from the WHO (World Health Organization), marking the first time a country has left the organization since its founding in 1948. Why is the US now using her economic, political, and military leverage to disentangle international law, trade, institutions, and order? At this very moment, the US army is moving several warships to Iranian waters with reports that the US might attack Iran.
Such perceived imbalance of power is forcing many nations to seek an alternative to the US dollar and the international trading system. For instance, several countries are trying to join the BRICS organization to serve as a counter to the US-led global order. These nations are seeking to have their own banking systems, reserve currency, and other trade institutions.
The US is moving several military assets to the Middle East in anticipation of attacking Iran and toppling the government. Is this another repeat of what happened in Venezuela?
In effect, the actions of the United States in recent months is making the nations angry just as it was prophesied in Revelation 11:18. The nations are angry at the current world order and want to change it. This is what lead to wars and bloodshed… the current global climate is definitely ripe for war and only God can save us from the arms of bloodthirsty demons marshalling their forces to this end. From Japan to Europe, nations are increasing their defense budgets to manufacture and buy more arms for war. This is a very disturbing and alarming situation, signaling that we are again entering the age of wars and conflicts.
The transformation of the United States from a moral authority that used freedom, respect of human rights, and rule of law into an authoritarian power seeking to bend the world towards its will is also spelled out in Bible prophecy. The US started as a protestant Christian nation with principles based on the Bible, but it is now using force to rule the world. It was represented in prophecy (Revelation 13:11) as a beast with lamb-like horns (or principles of power) that spake like a dragon.
Using symbols, the Bible represent global powers as fierce beasts. In terms of the USA, it was shown as a beast with lamblike horns but later transformed into a dragon. This transformation from a lamb-like power to a dragon-like one is almost complete.
This is deception and hypocrisy. For it appeared like a lamb, but spoke like a dragon (it’s true character), which is used to represent Satan (Revelation 12:3-4, 7-9); this deceptive beast exercised the power of the first beast (Papal Rome) in controlling the world and used wonders and miracles to make people believe its power as divine (Revelation 13:12-14). The metamorphosis of the USA from a beast with lamb-like horns to a dragon-like beast is almost complete. Alas, we are on the verge of the New World Order, and prophecy is being fulfilled before our very eyes.
