We want Barabbas and Barabbas, we shall get! For the world loves evil and hates the good. Oh Heaven, watch and wonder. Oh, Earth behold and shiver. Humanity has chosen Caesar over Christ, saying “We have no King but Caesar!” Indeed, mankind has said with defiance “May His blood be on us and our Children!”
And oh boy we have been ruled by Caesar! Who has taxed us to enrich themselves, concocted diseases to reduce our population, murdered millions in wars, and martyred the saints of Christ. “Barabbas” has filled the Earth with blood, misery, pain, divorce, terrorism, and torture: of women, children, and men; removing mercy and love from humanity!
Despite His resurrection of the dead, healing of the blind, Leprous, deaf, lame, etc., we chose a murderer over Him! Even in his suffering, He saved Barabbas from prison and his accomplice on the cross from hell.
Are your sins greater than Barabbas and his fellow thief on the cross?
On a Friday like this, Earth murdered her Creator on a cross. He rested (Shabbathed) in the tomb and resurrected after the Sabbath. May we die with Christ today, rest with Him on this Sabbath, and resurrect afterward with a perfect and sinless nature.
