My Lilly

A poem of adoration and praise for women

In my hands…is a Lilly

Her petals, pure as love

Gentle as dove

Soft as furs

White as light

Peaceful as Heaven

Lovely as an angel

Innocent as a lamb

By thy side, tonight, oh thou sleeping beauty,

Thy lips pink as a rose

Breath fragrant as ‘cologne’

Hair golden as rays

Face solemn as peace

Resting, on pillows soft as feathers

And sheets white as snow…

Shall my Lilly lay

In my bosom…lies a Lilly

Divinely molded from my flesh

Exquisitely framed of my bones…

The vintage of maidens

The adoration of eyes

The desire of hearts

Food of the ‘flesh’

And Queen of the home…is my Lilly
